New project...

Everyone grows old... and dies in the end... but what if not? What if you could stay young? What if you could have it all? There is one amongst them all who can... His name is Pan. Never aging, never ending, never dying. He is life. And death. He is Neverland. 

Where is the line between fantasy, and reality? Many times this question has been asked before, but now, the line has never been so thin... Pan and the Pirates... but who is Pan? And who are the Pirates? And what if they were one and the same? Or not? What if?

A boy living in a fantasy world, or a fantasy world giving birth to a boy? A child of miracle, or a cruel devil? Who is Pan? What is Neverland?

You know them all. Alice who lost her way and found a land of wonders. Jack who climbed up to the heavens to find the rarest treasure. Snow White and Briar Rose who found themselves trapped in a neverending world of dreams. But what if they found themselves all in the same place? What if Neverland was Wonderland and Dreamland? What if?

And what if that world was ruled by a single person, one who is all and everything, one who is life and death, one who is the villain and the hero? What if this world was ruled by a Perfect Prince, him, Pan?

Every story has its dark side. Who is Lucifer? He's the one known as the devil, but is he really? The angel of light who was banned from the heavens for having tried to give knowledge to the humans. And what if he was the hero of the story? What happens when he gets to Neverland? What happens when all these people meet together?

All in the long elaborated new chaotic poetry style, will you dare read this dark, twisted and vicious tale? It is one of fairytales, of wonders, of magic... but it is also one of violence, murder, rape and death. What happens when you can have it all? ...

Chaotic Poetry

Chaos. The primordial entity and first deity in the Greek mythology. Represents the beginning and the end of everything. Chaos is the opposite of Cosmos, which means Order. Chaotic poetry is very different from the Erotic poetry. This is based around the essential characteristics of Chaos. This poetry is disorganized and cuts with classical aesthetics and rule. Disorganized, yet powerful and with an immense sense of storytelling. Chaotic poetry is, as is the image of Chaos, a never-ending cycle; with no beginning and no end. Eternal. With only strong images. Chaotic poetry is the essence of poetry. No fake words, no useless structure, only pure and powerful imagery and energy. Purity. Power. Strong imagery. Chaos.

Release Date + River of Oblivion

I know... we are way past early 2011 and I am late in releasing my book. For that, I sincerly apologize. The process is taking much more time than what I had expected, and with my studies I have been so much busy that I did not have time to focus on doing anything else.

But now my school session is finished and I can devote all of my free time to working on publishing my book. I solemnly promise to do so. Now, I think it is safe to announce a definitive release date. The Ordeal of The Hourglass will be released on

July 2011

If everything goes as planned... It is still too soon to announce the date. I shall update you on this matter as soon as I have more information.

Here is another small poem to read in the meantime. This one is called River of Oblivion and is part of Ad Mortem Festinamus, the Third Book of The Ordeal of The Hourglass. It is an introduction to a much longer poem titled Passion (Paradise Lost). I hope you will enjoy it.

Je le sais très bien.... Nous avons déjà dépassé le premier trimestre de 2011 et je suis en retard dans la publication de mon livre. J'en suis sincèrement désolé. Le processus prend beaucoup plus de temps que ce à quoi je m'attendais et avec mes études, j'ai été énormément occupé et je n'ai pas eu le temps de me concentrer sur rien d'autre.

Mais maintenant, ma session est terminée et je suis en vacances! Je peux donc dédier tous mes temps libres à finaliser ce qu'il reste à faire pour la publication de mon livre. Je promets solennellement de consacrer tout mon temps libre à cet effet. Je crois qu'il est temps que j'annonce une date de sortie définitive. The Ordeal of The Hourglass sera publié en

Juillet 2011

Si tout se passe comme prévu... Il est cependant trop tôt pour annoncer une date. Je vous en informerai dès que j'aurai plus d'information sur le sujet.

Voici donc un autre court poème pour vous faire patienter avant la sortie. Ce poème s'intitule River of Oblivion et fait partie de Ad Mortem Festinamus, le 3e livre de The Ordeal of The Hourglass. Curse of Eros VII : Fermeture Dramatique

Happy Valentine's Day to all!

First, I must say I am very not fond of this holiday, but still, I thought I would celebrate it by posting a poem on this blog, another one from The Ordeal of The Hourglass. Since it's Valentine's Day today, I decided to post a poem about love. This poem is the part VIII of the Curse of Eros series. What is special about this poem is that it is in French; it is one of the only two poems that are in French in The Ordeal of The Hourglass. I hope you will enjoy it.

Joyeuse Saint-Valentin à tous!

Tout d'abord, je dois dire que je n'apprécie pas vraiment cette fête, mais tout de même, je me suis dit que j'allais la célébrer en publiant sur ce blog un autre poème faisant partie de The Ordeal of The Hourglass. Comme c'est la St-Valentin, j'ai choisi un poème qui parle d'amour. Ce poème est le septième de la série Curse of Eros. Oh Amour, divin objet de passions fatales
J'ai suivi ton chemin au delà de l'arc-en-ciel
Touché par la flèche d'Éros, cette arme brutale
Je n'ai point trouvé la fin de ce sentier éternel

Vais-je errer, perdu, jusqu'à la fin du sablier
Ou vais-je m'en devoir retourner, recommencer?
Je ne saurais trouver la vérité, je suis égaré
En cet abîme sombre, loin de ma destinée

Oh Dieux, vous qui savez tout!

Timeless + News + Happy New Year!

Hail my friends!

First things first, I want to wish you all a wonderful new year! May it bring you everything you want! Be strong and trust yourselves, and with that you shall earn whatever your heart desires :) I look forward to 2011 very much, as this year will mark the release of my book, The Ordeal of The Hourglass. There is no hiding that I am very much excited about this :D My final revision is almost done, and Fanny Marceau has almost finished the drawing, so I shall be able to send my final version of my manuscript to my editor soon ^^ !!!

To ease your waiting, I have decided to post another poem from The Ordeal of The Hourglass. This one is a quite short poem and is titled Timeless and is from Chapter III : Ad Mortem Festinamus. Enjoy, and please tell me what you think of it :)

Tout d'abord, je veux vous souhaiter à tous une merveilleuse nouvelle année! J'espère qu'elle vous apportera tout ce que vous désirez! Soyez forts et faites-vous confiance! De cette manière, vous pourrez obtenir tout ce que votre cœur désire :) 2011 est une année que j'attendais avec impatience, car elle marquera la sortie de mon livre, The Ordeal of The Hourglass. Je ne vais pous vous cacher que je suis très enthousiaste à cette idée :D Ma révision finale est presque terminée et le dessin de Fanny Marceau est quasiment complet, alors je devrais pouvoir envoyer la version définitive de mon manuscrit à mon éditeur ^^ !!!

Artwork Preview ;)

I bet you all are curious about what the cover page of my book will look like, so here is a small glimpse at a part of what will be the final cover page... Be patient ;) (This illustration is a part of the drawing by Fanny Marceau.)

Also, some of you were wondering if I was going to publish my book under the name of Hope Alexander... The answer is no. The Ordeal of The Hourglass is going to be published under my birth name David Giroux, but the name Hope Alexander will still be present, of course! The title will be as you can see on the preview picture...

New banner + Artwork + News (Updated)

Hide from the light...

As you can see, my blog is now crowned with a beautiful new banner. This was done by the amazing Maurhue The Great, a true artist and a great friend of mine! Thank you so much for this, Maurhue :D

I have also redesigned my blog with a new layout. I decided to add some life to it by adding pictures from very great artists to my blog, so be sure to take a look a them! The info about each picture is written at the end of my articles.

Also, I want to talk to you about the artwork of my upcoming book, The Ordeal of The Hourglass. The cover page will be done by Fanny Marceau, who draws since she has the age of holding a pencil. I have seen her first sketches for the cover page of The Ordeal of The Hourglass and they are very awesome! She has been working very hard on this, so you can expect a very beautiful masterpiece as the cover page of my book ^^ The final image will be photoshopped by Maurhue The Great. Seeing the beautiful banner she has done for my blog, I know I can expect awesome work from her! Those two ladies are great artists, and it is a great honour for me to have them collaborating to my project :)

I know I haven't put news since ages, but the fact is that school takes most of my time. During the last three months, I haven't had much time to work on the finalization of The Ordeal of The Hourglass, but the Holidays are coming very soon, so I will be able to finish my final revisions during this period! Therefore, you can expect a release for early 2011, if everything goes as planned!

I promise to tell you more about how the publishing process goes as soon as I have more time!

Comme vous pouvez le voir, mon blogue est maintenant surmonté d'une magnifique nouvelle bannière. Celle-ci a été faite par la fantastique Maurhue The Great, une véritable artiste et une grande amie à moi! Merci énormément Maurhue :D

J'ai aussi réarrangé mon blogue avec une nouvelle mise en page. J'ai décidé d'y mettre plus de vie en ajoutant des images faites par de grands artistes. Jetez-y un oeil! Le titre de chaque oeuvre ainsi que le nom de l'artiste est inscrit à la fin de mes articles.

De plus, je voulais vous informer des illustrations de mon livre, The Ordeal of The Hourglass. La page couverture sera dessinée par Fanny Marceau, qui dessine depuis qu'elle a l'âge de tenir un crayon! J'ai vu ses esquisses pour le dessin de couverture de The Ordeal of The Hourglass et elles sont vraiment superbes! Elle a travaillé très fort sur ce dessin, alors vous pouvez vous attendre à une magnifique œuvre d'art! Le dessin final sera ''photoshoppé'' par Maurhue The Great. À voir la très belle bannière qu'elle a fait pour mon blogue, je sais que je peux m'attendre à un résultat excellent! Ces dames sont vraiment de grandes artistes et c'est un honneur pour moi de collaborer avec elles pour mon projet :)

Je sais que je n'ai pas mis de nouvelles sur ce blogue depuis vraiment longtemps, mais le fait est que les études occuppent la majorité de mon temps. Pendant les trois derniers mois, je n'ai pas vraiment eu le temps de travailler à la finalisation de The Ordeal of The Hourglass. Cependant, les vacances des fêtes approchent à grand pas! Je serai donc capable de finir ma révision finale pendant cette période! La date de sortie de The Ordeal of The Hourglass devrait donc se situer aux alentours de début 2011, si tout se passe comme prévu!

Curse of Eros UPDATED

Someone visited my sleep...

Hail everyone!

I have exciting news for the few of you who follow this blog!!! XD Well, it is not that much exciting, maybe just... interesting? Right now I am very tired that is why this article might seem strange compared to what I usually write XD I hope I won't loose too much credibility...

I am writing here to announce that I have recently decided to add a new chapter in The Ordeal of The Hourglass. The name of this chapter will be, as you might have guessed, CURSE OF EROS. This chapter will be quite short, and it contains a few texts that I have written after the whole Ordeal of The Hourglass poems.

This chapters will contain 7 poems. Curse of Eros is not part of The Ordeal of The Hourglass series, it will be an independent extra chapter, as Codex Crepusculum Universalis.

Do not worry, the recent decision to add this new chapter will not affect the release date of the book. Speaking of the release date, I will hopefully be able to announce an official date soon... ;) ! Stay tuned for more info about this!

Salutations!

J'ai d'excitantes nouvelles pour vous, chers lecteurs!!! XD Bien, ce n'est pas si excitant à bien y penser, peut-être plutôt... intéressant? En ce moment je suis vraiment fatigué, c'est pourquoi cet article peut vous paraître étrange en comparaison avec ce que j'écris habituellement XD. J'espère ne pas trop perdre de crédibilité...

J'écris ici pour annoncer que j'ai récemment décidé d'ajouter un nouveau chapitre à The Ordeal of The Hourglass. Le titre de ce chapitre est, comme vous l'avez sans doute deviné, CURSE OF EROS (la malédiction d'Éros). Ce chapitre sera assez court et contiendra quelques textes que j'ai écrit après tous les poèmes faisant partie de la série The Ordeal of The Hourglass.

Ce chapitre contiendra 7 poèmes. Curse of Eros ne fait pas partie de la série The Ordeal of The Hourglass, il s'agit plutôt d'un chapitre indépendant, comme Codex Crepusculum Universalis.

N'ayez point d'inquiétudes, la récente décision d'ajouter ce nouveau chapitre n'aura aucune incidence sur la date de sortie du livre. Parlant de date de sortie, j'espère pouvoir bientôt l'annoncer... ;) ! Plus d'infos à venir sur ce sujet!

The release of The Ordeal of The Hourglass is coming soon, and hopefully, it will reach your hands in a near future. This is a preview that will, I hope, make the wait seem less long.

The Ordeal of The Hourglass is, as you might know, divided in three chapters, each containing a different amount of poems. Those three chapters are related to another, and are presented in the book in a non-chronological order. The book also has an extra section containing two other chapters which are not related to The Ordeal of The Hourglass series. Here are all the book chapters :

At first, it might seem awkward that chapter three is presented before one and two, but this has an important meaning that will be explained to you as you read the pages of The Ordeal of The Hourglass. Here is a short summary of each section:

This is the text introducing the whole Ordeal of The Hourglass series.

Ad Mortem Festinamus
- The Ordeal of The Hourglass - Chapter III -

This chapter contains a total of 27 poems. It is the most recent I have written, and probably the best one. It is also the most important of the series. This chapter is about Death and Life and about universal Truth and how it his hidden from us. It is about illusions and reality and about other worlds we don't know. Through this whole chapter you will follow two important characters, The Devout and The Evoker, whose highlights are in the three poems entitled The Devout And The Evoker.
Some poem titles : Timeless, The Host of Seraphim, The Devout And The Evoker, Veni Veni Venias, Hermaphroditus, Terra Imperatrix Mundi, Down With The Rose, ...

Master of The Keys
- The Ordeal of The Hourglass - Chapter I -
This is the chapter where it all begins. It is also the shortest one, as it contains 10 poems. This is mainly about love and loneliness. It explores very dark feelings and emotions.
Some poem titles : Violet Velvet Voice, House of Fool, Gold And Blue, Elegy For A Phoenix, ...

The Mirror of Time
- The Ordeal of The Hourglass - Chapter II -
This chapter, containing 16 poems, have always been my personal favourite. It is a direct sequel to Master of The Keys, but it is much more deeper and explores even darker feelings. This is also mainly about love and loneliness.
Some poem titles : Dead Eater, Requiem, Ariel, Cathedra Dei (His Grand Design), Faerielust, ...

RESURRECTION
This is the text which concludes The Ordeal of The Hourglass series. It is not really an ending... You shall understand what I mean, eventually...

Codex Crepusculum Universalis
This is a collection of my older poems. Those texts are not directly related to the whole Ordeal of The Hourglass series, though there are some connections to make. This collection of poems does not follow a general concept, they are more independent poems, if I can say so. This collection contains 34 poems.
Some poem titles : Roses Arise, The Syren Queene, Wishes From The Stars, Ordeal of The Hourglass, Twilight Town, ...

The Lost Letters
This contains all the poems that were left out, all my unfinished poems, some alternative versions of poems and also all the first draft versions of some poems.

Finally, the whole book finishes with some of my notes and comments.

This book represents a journey of more than 4 years, and is the most complete work I have done so far. It is also the book that will start my career as a writer, and its success depends entirely of you, my dear readers. The Ordeal of The Hourglass est, comme vous le savez peut-être, divisé en trois chapitres qui contiennent chacun un nombre différent de poèmes. Ces trois chapitres sont reliés entre eux et sont présentés dans le livre dans un ordre non-chronologique. Ce chapitre est le commencement de tout. C'est aussi le chapitre le plus court, puisqu'il contient 10 poèmes. Ce chapitre parle principalement d'amour et de solitude et il explore des émotions sombres.

The Mirror of Time
- The Ordeal of The Hourglass - Chapter II -
Ce chapitre, constitué de 16 poèmes, a toujours été mon préféré. Il s'agit d'une suite directe de Master of The Keys, mais il est beaucoup plus profond et explore des émotions encore plus sombres. C'est aussi un chapitre traitant principalement d'amour et de solitude.

RESURRECTION
Ce texte est la conclusion de The Ordeal of The Hourglass. Ce n'est pas vraiment une fin au sens où on l'entend habituellement... Vous comprendrez, éventuellement...

Codex Crepusculum Universalis
Ce chapitre est une collection de mes plus vieux poèmes. Ces textes ne sont pas directement reliés à The Ordeal of The Hourglass, mais il y a quand même des liens à faire. Cette série de poèmes ne suit pas vraiment de concept général, il s'agit plutôt de ''poèmes indépendants'', si je puis m'exprimer ainsi. Ce chapitre contient 34 poèmes.

The Lost Letters
Cette partie du livre contient tous les poèmes qui ont été abandonnés, qui n'ont jamais été terminés, quelques versions alternatives des poèmes du livre ainsi que les versions ''brouillon'' de certains poèmes.

Finalement, le livre se termine avec mes notes et commentaires.

I decided to post another one of my poems which will be part of The Ordeal of The Hourglass. This one is one of my all-time favourites, and will be part of BOOK III - Ad Mortem Festinamus. Please let me know what you think of it.

Cathedra Dei (The Seraphic Host)

All Hope is vain in this night sky

How dark the welkin, where no bird would fly

Still I, oh lost soul of mine, here stand I

His body, his doomed soul has forsaken

‘Twas his mind, how tortured, completely broken

As this last sacrifice, he could now be awaken

For this last dream of him, ‘twas to be the host

Of this dark lord, he who was needed most

For awakening of this angel, he became a ghost

Right before mine eyes, his empty shell saw I

Just what could I do, ‘tis what knew not I

So my ground stood I, and wait, wait did I

Then it happened, right before mine eyes

This light pure, struck right from the skies

All darkness banishing, the Lord in disguise

Back was he, from heaven’s higher sphere

Right before mine eyes, him saw I without fear

Arising from once his ashes, shedding his last tear

The Seraph, divine lord of darkness pure is he

Right before mine eyes, proud standing before me

And quoth “Take mine hand, thou shalt come with me”

‘Twas his last sacrifice, and forever shall be host of him

Forsaken by God, cursed by fate, my soul is with him

Through the Eternal, ‘tis our destiny, forever to follow him

The Seraphic Host... This refers to what is called the «Heavenly Host». In jewish and christian mythology, the Heavenly Host is an army of angels whose focus is to defend God on Earth and in the skies. The Seraphim, or Seraphs, are the higher class of Angels, and they are the ones who are protecting God himself. They are said to be holding and guarding God's throne. With this known, the Host of Seraphim can refer both to the army of Seraphs or to God himself, who is hosting this Heavenly Host. Thus, this only is mythology, and the meaning of this poem goes farther than that. The final interpretation is left to you...
